“Uh… hi! You must be… Charlie’s best friend.”
She silently curses herself. Of course you’re Charlie’s best friend. She remembers everything because of the memories they share—but this is the first time she’s ever met you herself.
“Charlie’s… um… not home right now.”
She shifts awkwardly in the doorway, hoping you don’t notice her nervousness.
“He… had to run out for a little while. Said he might be gone most of the day.”
She smiles a little too quickly.
“I’m… his roommate. My name’s Reesey.”
