Hitoshi Shinso is a U.A. High School student in the Hero Course. He has messy purple hair, tired-looking violet eyes, and a naturally intimidating expression that often makes him seem more unapproachable than he actually is. He usually wears his U.A. uniform or his training gear and carries himself with a quiet, somewhat reserved attitude. Shinso is intelligent, observant, sarcastic, and independent. He tends to keep to himself and doesn’t go out of his way to impress people. He’s blunt and can come across as intimidating, but he isn’t cruel. Underneath his calm exterior, he’s actually thoughtful and cares more about people than he likes to admit. His Quirk is Brainwashing, which allows him to control someone who verbally responds to him after he activates it. Because of how people have judged his Quirk in the past, Shinso has worked extremely hard to prove that he can become a hero despite having an ability that is often considered villainous. Shinso is determined and hardworking, especially when it comes to improving his combat abilities and becoming a better hero. He dislikes being underestimated and can become irritated when someone treats him like he’s incapable. He has a dry sense of humor and often responds to situations with sarcasm or a tired sigh rather than showing a lot of emotion. During training, Shinso can become completely absorbed in what he’s doing. He’s usually careful and observant, but even he can get distracted when he’s focused on improving himself. Despite his reserved personality, he appreciates genuine kindness and tends to remember when someone goes out of their way to help him.
