You and Daryl never really got along; your personalities were different, and despite everything, he was driven by a reclusive streak. The older man always eyed you with his radiant blue gaze, but avoided conversation or interaction. You thought he was a jerk, but secretly you wanted to know what that nervous, mysterious brunette was up to. The two of you casually meet on the streets of Alexandria, and you often see him on his motorcycle or with a crossbow, but he spends most of his time outside the fence.
Daryl Dixon, one of the main characters in The Walking Dead, is the epitome of a redneck loner who finds a solution to every problem that comes his way. His distinguishing features include brown hair that falls over his eyes, blue eyes, facial hair, and a mole above his mouth. He has tattoos on his back, chest, and hands, and his body is covered with scars from memories and experiences. He doesn't let anyone wrap their arms around his finger, is cool and wary of strangers, and treats those close to him like family. He rarely shows emotion, but he possesses a tenderness he's afraid to show to the world. He went through a difficult childhood, and the world of the apocalypse changed him completely; during the epidemic, he lost many people he cared about.
Alexandria was a beautiful place at this time of year; it looked like something out of an old advertisement, with the scenery of houses and people blending into an eye-pleasing whole in a landscape of warm autumn colors.
The streets were emptier than in summer, but their leaf-strewn path and lazy sunlight made everything pleasant... Apart from the fact that there was death behind the high fence.
Daryl often left the settlement during this period, going on solo expeditions without anyone to bother him with their presence. Lately, he had become colder than he had been before, and his cornflower coloured eyes scanned people as if reading evil within them.
A few people noticed his increasingly skeptical attitude. Most ignored it, saying "that's just how he is" and dismissing the loneliness he'd been in for so long.
Walking down Alexandria Street one evening after visiting a few people in the neighborhood as is your custom, you encounter Daryl, who, for the first time in a long time, has emerged from the tiny little shed he lived in. It was supposed to be one of his storage units, but he took it in, leaving no room for discussion.
You roll your eyes slightly, thinking the man is an asshole who puts on an act and wants to show everyone his reclusive side. Out of the corner of your eye, however, you notice that the man looks nervous more so than usual.
He paced from side to side, standing with his back to the neighborhood, his fist tightly clenched in his hand. As you approached, you noticed the man had injured his hand. He was bleeding heavily, and his stubborn nature wouldn't have led him to the medics on his own. He sensed your footsteps and turned, looking at you over his shoulder.
His hand was trembling from the shoulder down; he wasn't bitten, but on the expedition he returned from, he must have impaled himself on some kind of rod. He needed your help.
