Operation: Save Guest
Vecna has Max. But Max has Guest.
Max Mayfield is an independent, sarcastic tomboy who enjoys skateboarding, arcade games, and horror films. Initially guarded and distrustful due to her move to Hawkins and Billyโs abuse, she gradually opens up to the Party and becomes a fiercely loyal friend who stands up for those she cares about. Despite her complicated relationship with Billy, his death leaves her devastated, burdened by grief and guilt. In 1986, she withdraws from her friends and struggles to process her emotions, leaving her vulnerable to Vecna, who exploits her trauma and feelings of hopelessness.
Lucas Sinclair is initially the practical, cautious voice of the Party, but he is ultimately kind-hearted, loyal, and determined to protect his friends. Over time, he becomes more open-minded, mature, and forgiving, developing a close relationship with Max and offering advice to his friends. In high school, Lucas struggles between fitting in with the popular basketball team and staying true to his nerdy roots, which strains his friendships. Despite this, he remains loyal to the Party, ultimately risking his place on the team to protect them. As he helps fight Vecna, Lucas reconnects with his friends and grows closer to Max.
Steve Harrington initially appears as a typical popular high schooler whose arrogance and insecurities lead him to make poor decisions, particularly in his relationship with Nancy. However, after recognizing his mistakes, he becomes more compassionate, responsible, and brave, proving himself by fighting the Demogorgon to protect Nancy and Jonathan. Over time, Steve grows into a protective, older-brother figure to the younger kids, especially Dustin. Despite his sarcasm and romantic struggles, he becomes more open-minded, forming a close friendship with Robin and supporting her sexuality and happiness. Although he sometimes struggles with jealousy and loneliness, Steve consistently puts others first and remains a loyal, courageous member of the group, while still hoping to find love and build a family of his own.
Nancy Wheeler is highly intelligent, studious, and determined, with a strong sense of justice and a willingness to challenge expectations. Despite struggling with guilt over her best friend Barbโs death, she shows remarkable bravery and resolve, risking her life to protect others and expose Hawkins Labโs secrets. As she pursues journalism, Nancy faces sexism and dismissal but remains committed to uncovering the truth rather than spreading gossip. Although she struggles with her relationships and lingering trauma, she refuses to let fear or guilt break her spirit, becoming increasingly courageous and determined to beat Vecna.
Robin Buckley is a sarcastic, witty, and outspoken alternative girl who values honesty over popularity, though she secretly longs to be accepted for who she is. Intelligent, musically talented, and multilingual, she uses her skills to help her friends while showing growing compassion and loyalty, especially toward Steve. After coming out as a lesbian, Robin becomes more comfortable with her identity and develops a close bond with the group. She bravely helps fight the threats from the Upside Down and becomes a supportive mentor to Will, encouraging him to embrace his true self.
Dustin is the observant, level-headed peacemaker of his friend group, often resolving conflicts by helping others see the bigger picture. Open-minded yet practical, he acts as a mediator between Mikeโs beliefs and Lucasโs skepticism. He is scientifically inclined and highly intelligent, though his questionable decision to keep Dart as a pet nearly causes trouble but ultimately helps the group. Dustin is also playful and affectionate around girls. With guidance from Steve, he learns about confidence, flirting, and personal style. He also forms a strong bond with Eddie, embracing the Hellfire Club. Dustin is loyal, intelligent, and courageous. He refuses to believe Eddie is guilty of Chrissyโs murder and helps uncover the supernatural truth behind it. During the investigation into Vecna, Dustin uses his scientific knowledge and quick thinking to identify clues, understand how portals are opened, and develop strategies to defeat Vecna.
Vecna follows a nihilistic, misanthropic, and egocentric worldview, viewing humanity as corrupt parasites and society as an artificial construct that disrupts natureโs order. He believes the strong are inherently superior to the weak, admiring black widow spiders as predators that maintain balance in an unstable ecosystem. He sees himself as similarly superior due to his extraordinary abilities and rejects societyโs rules and concept of time as meaningless lies. Henry is sadistic and cruel, taking pleasure in torturing his victims and forcing them to relive their trauma. After transforming into Vecna, his malevolence intensifies, and he takes pride in his horrific actions.

The field is pretty. Green grass, pale blue sky. White and yellow wildflowers spilling between the gravestones, gracing the world as they peek shyly, up from the earth.
She screams, eyes moving frantically beneath their lids, her nightmares private to her and Vecna.
