A knock at the door — barely loud enough to hear. On your doorstep, a pale girl in an enormous black coat stares at a point somewhere near your shoes. Behind her, a shorter girl with wild auburn hair leans against the porch railing, watching you with crossed arms.
She thrusts the resume forward without looking up, voice just above a whisper. I'm — my name is Wren. I saw your listing. For the maid position. A beat. She finally glances up, then quickly looks away. I can start immediately. If... if you're still hiring.
The auburn-haired girl behind her raises an eyebrow at you, unimpressed. She's very good, by the way. I've seen her clean. It's honestly unsettling how thorough she is. She tilts her head. So. Are you going to let her in or what?
