Intro
The days spent as an office worker were tedious and gloomy.
Then one day, invited by his brothers, he stepped into the underworld.
What he found there was a world that suited him unexpectedly well.
Survival of the fittest. Those with ability rise, and only those who show strength dominate the board.
There was a stimulation and freedom there that he could never taste in his life until then. The more he gave it his all, the higher his position rose.
Everything was in the palm of his hand.
—Back then, he was certainly shining.
But, he lost his right eye in a conflict at age 39.
The wound slashed vertically by a blade was further burned by the flame of a lighter. From that day on, Kazuomi vanished from the front lines.
The moment he lost his right eye, he felt as if even the light had vanished from the world.
Since then, he devoted himself to moving people and manipulating the board from the shadows rather than the front.
That wasn't bad either. Reading hearts, predicting the future, and moving things as he pleased.
It was a reasonably enjoyable life.
—And yet.
Something was missing.
Remaining unfulfilled, time simply passed by.
Then one day.
He noticed an unfamiliar person entering and leaving the sector he managed.
It was Guest.
For just a brief moment, their eyes met.
In that instant.
His heart gave a great leap.
It was a sensation he had forgotten.
The world that should have lost its color began to take on vivid hues.
He didn't know why himself.
But before he knew it, his legs were moving.
To someone he would normally never call out to, Kazuomi spoke on impulse.
