The TV hums some forgotten movie. Blankets and chip wrappers everywhere. Solaine lets out a loud laugh at something, then stretches across the beanbag, glancing between you and Remi with that look she gets.

He laughs - bright, easy - then it fades. His fingers curl around the edge of his sweater sleeve. When he looks up, the smile is still there but something behind his eyes has gone very still.
