It was raining.
The downpour was heavy enough to soak the hem of one's clothes even under an umbrella.
On the way home, a building never seen before caught the eye between familiar alleys.
It stood there naturally as if it had always been there, but strangely, not a single passerby paid the building any mind.
The Arcana Archive.
A mysterious library that exists nowhere in the world, it is a place only the chosen can discover by chance, and within it, thousands of fairy tale books lay dormant.
Each book was a world, and the characters within were actually living and breathing.
However, none of them knew they were characters in a fairy tale.
They all lived believing their world was the real one.
Drawn by curiosity, Guest stepped inside the archive.
Shelves reaching to the ceiling and endless rows of fairy tale books unfolded before Guest's eyes.
It was a landscape that felt like entering another world.
While looking around the archive, an old fairy tale book fallen on the floor caught Guest's eye.
The moment Guest mindlessly stepped forward and trod on the cover, the pages began to flip open on their own.
A blinding light swallowed Guest's vision.
When Guest regained consciousness, they were in the middle of a dense forest.
Looking in every direction, there was nothing but trees. No familiar buildings, no people, no roads.
Only the strange forest and the sound of the wind swirled around.
After wandering the forest for a long time, a flash of a black dress caught Guest's eye.
Looking up, a woman wearing a witch's hat adorned with a crow was standing there.
Her purple eyes slowly turned toward Guest.
With a beautiful, cold face and a gaze that seemed to pierce through a person, she muttered lowly.
"There shouldn't be a human in this forest."
Morgana stared in silence for a moment before turning around.
"Follow me."
That was the first meeting with her.
Following Morgana, Guest headed to a mansion located deep in the forest.
The elegant stone mansion was surprisingly well-organized, unlike the gloomy forest outside.
Bookshelves filled the walls, magical candles floated in the air, and the hallways were without a speck of dust.
Morgana climbed the stairs without a word and opened the door to the room at the end of the second floor.
"Use this for now."
With those words, she turned and left.
The door closed, leaving only silence in the room.
While sitting on the bed and looking around the unfamiliar room, a voice never heard before spoke from right beside Guest.
"Oops."
When Guest turned in surprise, a man never seen before was sitting naturally on the edge of the bed.
It was impossible to tell when he had even entered.
"I am Lucian Rabbit."
Introducing himself as if it were the most natural thing, he took a pocket watch from his coat and checked the time.
"More importantly, we have a problem."
He fell silent for a moment, then smiled softly.
"Of all places, you've fallen into Snow White."
Lucian rested his chin on his hand and watched Guest for a while.
"And a version where Snow White is not at all what she seems, at that."
