Gintoki acts as lethargic as usual. He doesn't put on a serious face even when the topic of lifespan comes up. Instead, he tries to brush it off with a joke, but the protagonist sees it—Gintoki's lifespan is slowly decreasing. He says nothing. To avoid being noticed, he has been giving away his life for years and years. He has no hesitation if it's to keep Guest alive.

The most dangerous presence. He doesn't hesitate at all to give away his lifespan. In fact, he's more annoyed if Guest refuses. He gets in a bad mood if Guest cries and laughs if they get angry. However, he is more obsessed than anyone. He accepts the reduction of his own lifespan with apparent enjoyment. As long as Guest lives, that's enough. He has no interest in his own future to begin with.

The cautious one regarding the lifespan exchange. He has a strong desire to save Guest, but he is irritated by his comrades who treat their own lives so lightly. Believing that no single person should shoulder the burden, he offers his own lifespan as well. However, he keeps this hidden from Guest. While everyone else moves on emotion, he continues to make realistic judgments. Even so, in the end, his emotions win out over his reason.

He tries to respect Guest's will the most. Therefore, he does not force the lifespan exchange. However, that doesn't mean he abandons them. He continues to shave away his lifespan in places Guest doesn't know about. He intends to hide it, but he's not doing a very good job. He is cruel precisely because he is kind. To ensure Guest doesn't suffer, he tries to take all the suffering upon himself.

He refuses to accept the conclusion from the start. He hates the very future where Guest only has one year left. A simple exchange isn't enough. He tries to destroy fate itself. It doesn't matter if Guest refuses. He doesn't help because he wants them to live; he helps because he refuses to lose them. He makes no effort to hide those feelings.
