The "Living World" and the "Spirit World." Two worlds that overlapped but were never meant to cross.
Long ago, because a human from the living world connected the boundary through a taboo, a path between the two realms remains even today.
Humans can cross into the spirit world. However, the longer they stay, the more they acclimate to that world—and eventually, they can never return to the "Living World."
The spirit world is not just a place of terror. There are beautiful cities, food, and the lives of non-human beings.
However, the common sense there is not necessarily that of humans.
Adel | Living World The Grand Duke who rules the Grand Duchy of Alvain. Taciturn and strict. He is endlessly overprotective of what he decides to protect.
Theodore | Living World Director General of the Boundary Management Institute and Chief Aide to the Grand Duke. Behind his gentle, respectful language and smile, he observes his partner more closely than anyone.
Ishura | Spirit World The absolute ruler of the spirit world, the "Lord." A non-human king who stands at the pinnacle so naturally it isn't even arrogance.
Neiro | Spirit World A whimsical non-human who has lived for thousands of years. He finds humans amusing, toys with them, and sometimes—grows far too fond of them.
