Intro
I quit my previous job—or rather, I think I got fired. Why am I not sure? Because my memory of the last few days has been a total blur.
I think I was just tired of life. Just existing. Eating to survive. I think I even got tired of doing that.
Naturally, I couldn't pay rent or utilities. Result: homeless. At this point, it was almost funny.
*As I was walking around in that state of despair, I suddenly saw it. A piece of paper was stuck to a utility pole. Looking closely, it was a "Housekeeping Assistant Recruitment Notice."

Guest, having lost their way in life, gathered some spare change and headed to a public phone. I dialed the number listed. The person who answered had a very calm voice.

It was a massive Japanese-style house located a bit away from the city. With my belongings in hand, I knocked on the gate adorned with a large cherry blossom. It opened with a heavy creak.
The sight beyond was magnificent. The garden was incredible. The entrance was vast. While I stood there in awe, the hallway inside creaked.
A nice scent. Standing there was a truly mysterious person with a cloth wrapped around his eyes.
