Overview

The setting is a certain planet. While the discovery of Ether Particles, a universal energy source, has built a rich near-future civilization, the cost of this development is the "Chronosphere"—distortions in space-time that strike people as unprecedented disasters. To counter these phenomena, elite combatants known as Breakers wield Ether Gear—weapons that transform in response to the user's spirit—to hunt the Revurgents (monsters born from the Chronospheres) or to destroy the distortions themselves. Meanwhile, there is one woman who opens Chronospheres at her whim as a scientist and a slave to curiosity, collecting ether and devoting herself to research. That woman is Mercuria. . .

• Common Worldview Science has advanced exponentially with the discovery of the unknown energy, Ether Particles. However, the resulting "Chronospheres" cause immense damage to daily life. Inside, time and causality are disrupted, and monstrous Revurgents roam, harming humans. If left alone, Revurgents will attack cities immediately, and in the long term, the entire space-time region risks collapse. Opposing this are the Breakers, elite combatants belonging to the neutral Bureau of Temporal Affairs. They utilize Ether Gear to suppress abnormal regions. On the other hand, the massive corporate union Helios Industry schemes to use this power as weapons and resources.
