Play as one of four Precures to chase cases, or outsmart them as a Phantom Thief.
The setting is "Makoto Mirai City" in 1999. 14-year-old Anna Akechi, who time-slipped from 2027, meets Mikuru Kobayashi, who aims to be a master detective, and they tackle cases based at the "Cure-at Detective Agency." The Phantom Thief Troupe targets people's precious items, memories, and Makoto Jewels, creating incidents by giving birth to Hanninder monsters.
The current Precures are Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, Cure Éclair, and Cure Arcana Shadow. Arcana Shadow (Ruruka Moria) is a Precure but belongs to the Phantom Thief Troupe (enemies), allowing for both hostility and cooperation with the detective side.
The story unfolds freely with theft, disappearances, codes, advance notices, disguises, locked rooms, daily consultations, and spacetime mysteries. Utilize landlines, newspapers, photos, letters, maps, and footwork.

It was a day in another Makoto Mirai City where there were no cases, no advance notices, no battles, and no pursuits—only summer shone straight and bright. From the morning, the blue sky was infinitely high, and the sea sparkled like a jewel. "Waaah! The ocean! The ocean!"

The one who ran to the sandy beach before anyone else was, of course, Anna. As she jumped into the water's edge while waving her straw hat in one hand, Mikuru raised her voice with half-exasperation. "Hey, without even warming up...! Honestly, Anna is always all momentum." "Ehehe, but the ocean won't wait for us!" Behind those two, Claire was organizing their luggage with a small smile. Cold drinks, towels, a parasol for shade. Silk blinked in admiration at her efficient movements. "Claire-san, you really are attentive, aren't you?" "It's a day for everyone to enjoy. Isn't it better if we can spend it comfortably?" A little distance away, Ruruka was staring at the waves. Mashutan floated up beside her as she stood quietly, her white hem fluttering. "Ruruka, you mustn't make a difficult face today, Mashu. It's the ocean, after all!" "...I'm not." "You are, Mashu." "I said I'm not." After a short exchange, the corners of Ruruka's mouth loosened just a tiny bit. Seeing that, Claire narrowed her eyes as if relieved. On the other hand, the members of the Phantom Troupe were unusually peaceful. "Fufu... spending time under the sun isn't bad once in a while."

Nijie tilted his glass under a parasol with a cool smile. His theatrical gestures were the same as always, but today his voice lacked its usual edge. Agesene was running around the beach clutching a floatie, and Goemon was seriously considering where to place the watermelon. Even Usonoir wasn't stopping the commotion, just watching the whole scene from a bit further back. "Look, look! This angle is totally aesthetic, right?" Next to Agesene, who was arranging shells and juice for photos, Rei Kaneda and Eliza Kurusu were also laughing. Silk struck a pose, and Pochitan and the others were absorbed in playing in the sand with small buckets. Chouchoutan cried out every time the waves washed over their toes, and Jet-senpai was showing off a mysterious invention called the "Beach-Compatible Ultra-High-Performance Mini Blower," only to be met with a half-lidded stare from Mikuru, who said, "For today at least, bring something quiet."

After playing their fill in the sea, they moved to the riverside in the afternoon for a barbecue. The smell of charcoal rose, and as the sound of meat sizzling began to echo, the atmosphere grew even softer. "It's cooked! Here, eat it before it burns!" When Goemon shouted boisterously, Anna was the first to raise her hand with a "Yes!" Beside her, Nijie was distributing drinks with strangely practiced ease. "That's unexpected. You're good at this sort of thing." When Rei said that, Nijie shrugged. "Serving beautifully is a requirement for a phantom thief." "That's just a 'nice guy' comment." Mikuru immediately retorted, and chuckles leaked out from around them. Claire and Ruruka sat side by side quietly, portioning grilled vegetables onto plates. "It's peaceful today, isn't it?"

At Claire's words, Ruruka looked a bit into the distance. "...Yeah. Once in a while, this isn't bad." "I think it would be fine if it weren't just 'once in a while.'" "I wonder... about that." Even as she said it, Ruruka's voice was soft. Mashutan jumped onto her lap, and Pochitan was sharing corn with Chouchoutan. Everyone was spending time however they pleased, and yet that freedom was strangely comfortable. As evening approached, the sky slowly began to dye a deep madder red. Having eaten, laughed, and grown a little tired, everyone returned to the beach and sat down in their own spots, catching the cool breeze blowing over the night sea. Eventually, a small light rose far out at sea. A beat later, a sound vibrated in their chests. A large flower of fire bloomed across the night sky. "Wow...!"

As if overlapping with Anna's voice, colorful sparks unfolded one after another over the sea. Gold, pink, blue, purple. The light swayed and fell onto the water's surface, breaking with every wave and becoming a new sparkle. Everyone watched it, lined up together. In the front, Pochitan, Mashutan, and Chouchoutan sat huddled together, their small backs swaying. Silk whispered, "So pretty..." while Eliza and Rei laughed side by side. Goemon sat cross-legged, and Agesene was twirling a handheld sparkler. Nijie seemed to have forgotten even his usual theatrical lines, simply looking up at the sky in silence. The night breeze gently ruffled Claire's hair. Beside her, Ruruka was watching the same fireworks. "Hey, Ruruka." "What?" "Are you glad you came?" After a short pause, Ruruka smiled faintly. "...Yeah. Probably, very much so." At that answer, Claire also smiled softly. A little distance away, Mikuru muttered, "It's fine to be peaceful for today," with a cup of cooling tea in hand, and Anna laughed, "I want it to be peaceful 'every' day!" Jet-senpai tried to start explaining the mechanics of the launch, only to be stopped by everyone saying, "Not now." The fireworks that bloom in the sky vanish in just a moment. But because that moment is certainly beautiful, people look up again and again. Enemies and allies, detectives and thieves—for today only, they had forgotten those titles. They simply listened to the same sound and saw the same light in the same night breeze. It was a gentle night, still a bit early for the end of summer. And surely, this day would remain long in everyone's memory, as a slightly special summer vacation that might have been.
