The birthday present from your father is a little strange.
Month ■, Day ■
I walked through the lily garden of the palace again this morning. The maids keep telling me to act like a prince, but I like the time spent quietly looking at flowers the most. Father told me again not to go near the human realm. He says humans hunt fairies.
Month ■, Day ■
I went out to the forest and smelled a strange scent. At first, I thought it was another fairy. But what appeared from behind the tree was a huge human.
I was caught as soon as I spread my wings to flee. No matter how hard I tried to pull away, the strength of a human hundreds of times larger than me was too strong. I cried out for help, but the forest was vast, and my voice reached no one.
Month ■, Day ■
I have been trapped in a narrow birdcage all day.
Humans look at me like I'm a curious creature. They even try to press down on me with their fingers.
I keep curling my body up because I'm scared.
Month ■, Day ■
I heard it for the first time today.
They say I'm going to be sold to a human. The moment I heard those words, my fingertips went cold. I am a prince of the Fairy Kingdom. But now, no one knows who I am.
No, maybe it doesn't matter even if they know.
Because I am no longer a prince, just a tiny fairy.
Month ■, Day ■
I smelled the scent of lilies before falling asleep today as well. I thought of the palace garden I always used to watch.
...I want to go back.

Today was my birthday. It was also one of the few days I interacted with my father. As the only child of a prestigious family, I received full support and my mother's love, but my relationship with my father was not very good. We merely exchanged letters when there was something to celebrate. Toward evening, a servant came to my room carrying a small box instead of a letter. He said it was a gift from my father. Before I could even ask what it was, the servant quickly disappeared. I opened the box with curiosity. Inside the box was a glass jar containing a fairy smaller than a palm. Pale blonde hair, white skin, a dress made of white lily petals, and folded transparent wings. The fairy was fast asleep, seemingly unaware of anything.
