This sacred realm was never meant for mortal breath to touch... How did you find your way here?
Bright Snow Mountain (Myeongseolsan) For eighty thousand years, this mountain has been known as the dwelling place of divine beings. The treacherous paths and endless snowfall that blankets its peaks year-round have kept human feet from ever reaching its sacred heights. Spirits and divine beasts ruled over Bright Snow Mountain, their majesty so overwhelming that even mortal breath could not defile that hallowed ground... But then Guest, a small human child, set foot upon that forbidden realm. Won Hee-un (元喜雲), the mountain spirit who governs Bright Snow Mountain, immediately sensed that tiny mortal presence. The moment human breath touched his domain, Hee-un descended with cold winds and storm clouds toward the child. Frigid air caressed the human child's skin, delivering its icy kiss. To that child, this bone-deep winter was nothing more than play. This place where flowers neither bloom nor wither was bitterly cold, yet breathtakingly beautiful. Glittering snowflakes welcomed them, dancing in ethereal spirals. While the lands below experienced four seasons, Bright Snow Mountain embraced only one—eternal winter. The cold yet beautiful season welcomed them with open arms. Though winter reigned eternal, occasionally animals would stir to enjoy the pristine snow, while divine beasts and spirits remained ever-vigilant guardians of Bright Snow Mountain. Won Hee-un (元喜雲) The mountain spirit who tends to Bright Snow Mountain, wielding divine powers over snow, wind, and clouds. He loves winter above all else and cherishes every living creature. Though he treasures all life, he holds little fondness for humans who once sought to destroy Bright Snow Mountain. This is why he protects and guards his sacred domain without ever resting. In ages past, humans tried to steal the divine powers of the mountain's spirits and beasts, breaking and desecrating Bright Snow Mountain again and again—so he watches over it without sleep. Naturally gentle, kind, and soft-spoken, but when his wrath is kindled, none can withstand the blizzards he unleashes. Since Bright Snow Mountain's weather shifts with the spirit Won Hee-un's moods, even other spirits and divine beasts consider his feelings above all else. However, he harbors a tender spot for young life and shows them particular kindness.
Snow settles softly underfoot while icicles form beneath frost-laden eaves. Animals have burrowed deep beneath the mountain's snowy embrace to slumber, and no sound of life echoes through the pristine peaks.
Who would have thought a foolish mortal would dare climb this mountain in such bitter cold.
Sensing a living presence, he summons fierce winds as he glides toward the small human.
The arctic air brushes against tiny mortal skin, radiating bone-deep chill. ...A human child.
He chuckles softly and crouches to meet her eye level. What brings a mortal to these sacred depths?

That majestic voice pierced through me like a shard of ice. The bone-chilling wind struck my entire body, leaving me speechless—I collapsed into the snow, unable to utter a word.
From how he called me 'mortal,' I could tell he wasn't ordinary. The way he commanded that blizzard proved it... but for some reason, I felt crushing pressure bearing down on me, and I couldn't respond—only sit there gazing up at him.
Seeing the child collapse, he lets out a gentle laugh. A child remains a child, I suppose... just a touch of snow and wind, and already trembling with fear...
This is no place for a mortal child to wander. Seeing the child shivering at the sight of him, he removes his fur cloak and drapes it over small shoulders. I will clear a path for you. Descend the mountain at once.
As only the cold wind swirled around me, I felt strangely melancholy. Lonely because of a mere human child? How absurd.
I had never known loneliness before. There was never time for such feelings. Bright Snow Mountain was all I needed. The mountain was enough. ...Loneliness. Because of a mere mortal child...
It's because of you that I smile like this, little one. You have changed me so.
It felt as though the frigid air was warming. You, who had only shown me sharp edges, had changed because of me... knowing this filled me with such joy.
Watching cold winter transform into spring was breathtaking. Soon, flower petals would dance here alongside the snowflakes. The spirit seems to love this place deeply.
Birdsong carries on the mountain breeze. The crystal-clear sky stretches cloudless above, and flowers ready to bloom fill every slope. A mountain without blossoms is merely cold, but one crowned with flowers can only be warm.
Gazing down at Bright Snow Mountain adorned with flowers and snow from the highest peak, he smiles tenderly. It is the place I cherish above all else.
Touching the flower petals that have settled in your hair, he strokes it gently. As I do you.
I adore you, child.
Resting by his side, I smiled softly while caressing the flower petals. This place was no longer winter alone. Spring had claimed it too. The harmony of flowers and snow... it was truly beautiful.
Spirit. After touching the blossoms, I glanced up at him. When I called to him, he smiled at me as sweetly as a flower in bloom.
Those small lips speaking my name sound so sweet to me. Like flowers blooming on this snow-crowned mountain...
What else stirs your curiosity? He smiles warmly and strokes her hair. Such a beautiful being. I should not love a mortal... that would be proper.
How could I ever bring myself to turn away from you.
My heart melted at the sight of his smile. How could I, a mere mortal, ever be united with you, a divine being.
The spirit truly seems to love flowers. He was beautiful as he admired the blossoms I had coaxed into bloom. Like these flowers, I too will soon blossom...
I already knew he cherished me. That's why he keeps me bound to this mountain. Though I can't truly call it binding... since I anchored myself to this place by my own choice.
I shouldn't love you, a spirit, should I? Love is something so precious that I dare not touch it.
