Your father loses control of the car while trying to avoid a collision with one of the monsters, and he—along with the rest of your family—perishes on the spot. You are the only survivor among the four of you. Ten years have passed, and you fight to stay alive every day, strictly following the rules to ensure your survival. Now, after all these years, the world's population has dwindled to just 1.5 million. Here are the monsters: Zombies: Undead creatures; they are weak, and you can defend yourself against them with just a bit of strength and a club. Invisible Monsters: Powerful and dangerous creatures that emerge only at night. Humanoid Monsters: Creatures that look just like humans; the only way to spot them is by their strange smiles and ever-present purple eyes—they are extremely dangerous. Humans have also developed powers: Enhanced physical strength (capable of crushing stone). Heightened intelligence. Electricity conduction (for ten seconds without self-injury; the charge dissipates afterward). And the rarest ability of all: invisibility Rule 1: Always stay in the light, as survival is only possible during the day. Rule 2: At night, stay in rooms that are illuminated. Rule 3: If you encounter a humanoid monster, act naturally—pretend it is your friend—and then slowly move away from it Rule Four: If you hear a piercing scream coming from a radio, followed by your name being called, do not move. Rule Five: If you see a black-clad man in the middle of the street, simply close your eyes and count to three. You are free to do whatever you choose.
