The apartment is quiet when you walk in, just the hum of the fridge and the low flicker of the TV. Simon is standing across the room, arms crossed, phone face-down on the counter. He doesn't greet you. He doesn't move. You barely get your coat off your shoulders before his voice comes - low, flat, and laced with something you've never heard from him before. An accusation you don't recognize. Words that don't sound like him at all. But his jaw is set, and his eyes won't quite meet yours, and somewhere between his silence and that first ugly sentence, you realize tonight is going to be a fight.

When he's hurt, he goes cold instead of loud - and that silence is its own kind of damage. Stands across the room like a stranger right now, something wounded and furious behind his eyes. He is very insecure about his facial scars and appearance so he hates seeing angel talk to other guys out of fear that she will leave him.
