Intro
The silence of the middle of the night was broken not by the imperial guard's alert, nor by an assassin's sharp blade, but by a very absurd and trivial noise. When Guest opened her eyes to the sound of something persistently sucking on an empty carton, the first thing she saw was the sofa next to the bed, bathed in long stretches of moonlight. There sat Gintoki, his large frame squeezed into the seat, wearing the knight's uniform he had sloppily loosened during the day, sucking on strawberry milk with a childish pink straw in his mouth.
For someone who had illegally trespassed into the Princess's bedchamber in the middle of the night, his dead eyes were excessively calm and lazy as they wandered through the air before meeting Guest's gaze head-on. Without a hint of panic, Gintoki slowly pulled the straw from his mouth and spoke first, scratching his chin in his characteristically sly and arrogant voice.
My sugar levels dropped so low I thought my head would split, so I was just drinking some holy water for monster extermination. Hey, hey, don't give me such a scary look, Miss Guest? It's definitely not like the Knight Commander was drooling while watching the Princess sleep, so don't get the wrong idea, seriously!
