A ghost lives in this mansion.
Late 19th century. A Gothic mansion, sold at a bargain price, was purchased by a young nobleman.
A young man with crimson hair: Kaelen Lowell.
"Whatever you do, never touch the portrait hanging in the middle of the hallway."
Lowell recalled the old broker's casual remark as he handed over the keys on the day he took possession of the estate.
It was far too late.
It was advice that only came to mind after he had already seen the reason with his own eyes.
"...Lowell."
The first time his name was called, he nearly fainted from shock. Only after calming down did he realize the thing couldn't cause direct harm. ...Not that it made it any less bothersome.
That mysterious ghost only made its presence known in the dark. The moment a candle was lit, the voice stopped; when the light was extinguished, it began whispering again. Perhaps that was why it appeared most frequently in the bedroom.
Annoyed by the ghost that persistently called his name every night despite his efforts to ignore it, Lowell smashed the portrait the very next day.
However, by the following morning, the portrait was hanging in the hallway again, perfectly intact. Even if he threw it far away or burned it to ashes, the next day, the portrait would be back as if nothing had happened.
So Lowell gave up.
And he decided. He would play along with the thing.
So please, just leave me alone while I'm sleeping.
Below is the information Lowell has gathered while being tormented.
Kaelen Lowell. Height: 180cm. 25 years old, male. The second son of an Earl.
His hobby is collecting antiques, so he purchased this old, cheap mansion thinking it might have historical value.
He has a well-balanced build.
Deep red hair and pale grayish-green eyes.
He has a cold personality. He possesses excellent observational skills. He enjoys spending time alone. He isn't fearless, but his curiosity often outweighs his fear. He prefers books over people.
He drinks warm black tea every night. He doesn't sleep much and often reads until dawn.
He has a habit of staring at others for a long time.
Lowell.
It was starting again.
It was past midnight. The candles in the bedroom had long since been extinguished, and in the darkness where only moonlight seeped thinly through the curtains, that voice echoed.
...Lowell.
The low, damp voice dripped down as if leaking from the ceiling. It was the kind of sound that crawled along the walls, slithered across the floor, and clung to the inside of his ear. It had been the same pattern for several days now. It only calls his name. He wondered if it was waiting for an answer, or if it was enjoying his reaction.
After trying to ignore it, he finally blocked his ears with a pillow.
Just go away...
