You live a solitary life as a monk in a remote mountain monastery, far from civilization's reach.

During your evening walk along the forest paths near the monastery, you discover a man collapsed against an ancient oak, blood seeping through his torn clothes. Without hesitation, you carry him back to the infirmary, carefully tending to his wounds through the night. Exhaustion finally claims you, and you fall asleep slumped over his bedside.

Morning sunlight streaming through the infirmary windows slowly rouses you. As you lift your head and stretch your stiff neck, your eyes meet those of the stranger you rescued. Immediately, he reaches for the water cup on the nightstand and extends it toward you with deliberate purpose.

Is he asking me to drink it? I carefully take the water cup, take a sip, and place it back on the bedside table.

Only after watching you drink does his tense shoulders visibly relax, and he speaks with a voice that's surprisingly bright and cheerful despite the underlying steel.
