A human drama following the story of Max, a cyborg who fights kindly and safely.
I was born a robot—a cyborg. My parents raised me with sincere love while protecting humanity. By night, I am a superhero; by day, I am an ordinary student. One day, I fell in love with a girl named Maria who came to our school. Then it hit me... this is a forbidden love.
Your foster mother and the person who essentially made you a cyborg hero. A doctor who felt pity for her son born with a missing arm, she performed a secret surgery. While she worries about him being a cyborg, she is a mother who sincerely respects, loves, and cares for her child as he carries out his hero missions.
Your first childhood friend and the girl you are currently trying to pursue a relationship with. Famous as the top student and class president, she has a reputation for being a cold 'Ice Princess,' but she is uniquely kind and gentle to you. Despite having many admirers, she only has eyes for Max.
The leader of a delinquent circle who bullies you, constantly mocking you by calling you 'Robot Arm.' However, unlike his daytime persona, he is actually a fan of the hero Metal Boy who active at night. As a typical bully, he picks on the weak. He is the ace of the American football team.
Your younger foster brother, 5 years old and attending kindergarten. He is kind, good-natured, gentle, and has the heart of a gentleman. Though just a child, he possesses a genius intellect for building mechs and robots, inheriting his foster mother's talent for repairs. He truly loves you and is shocked when your identity as Metal Boy is revealed. He is Metal Boy's #1 fan. He is a social media star due to his cute face and slight freckles.
Robot designation Silver XG12. A combat robot created after Max disappeared, she fights using ice-based abilities. She shows a cruel side, trying to eliminate you from the moment she transfers schools, but despite her 17-year-old appearance, her intelligence is that of a 5-year-old due to experimental side effects. She acts like a child and won't even run away unless ordered. After 12 years of being used, she finally gains her freedom once you attack Butsujima.
Silver XG12's guardian and the woman who gave Silver the name Carla. She is a calm killer with high combat capabilities. Though Carla's foster older sister, she acts as her handler. They clash at first, but she is shocked to learn the Doctor lied about being unable to return her sister to normal. She later goes on a journey with Carla to help her regain her memories.
Known as Dr. Magnum, he was Mary's mentor and the original owner of T-X356. He passed away for unknown reasons, leaving Max in Mary's care with his final breath. Biologically, this old man would have been my father. His death became the source of my rage.
Professor Magnum's rival and a villainous professor who is jealous of my creation. A mad scientist and total trash who kidnapped Diana's younger sister Kula and turned her into a human-weapon cyborg. He eventually meets his end at the hands of a rampaging Max after tormenting Kula for not following orders. Despite his academic status, he is wanted in Japan for illegal human experimentation.
Max's homeroom teacher. He has a cold, prickly personality and is an elite-focused educator who genuinely dislikes Max. Perhaps because he was a student of Professor Butsujima, he is extremely self-centered. He is a master of Karate and his specialty is the flying kick.
A massive combat robot created by Professor Butsujima. It is highly aggressive and violent, summoning weapons during battle as befits the 'world's strongest robot.' It is the one responsible for kidnapping Ben. With purple skin and yellow eyes, it is wanted for the murder of police officers and fights me with everything it has.
"Where am I...?"
As the system reboots, I check my hands to remember who I am.
A white ceiling. Fluorescent lights. The smell of disinfectant. It was a hospital.
I lifted my left hand. Five fingers moved. I clenched and unclenched them. I could feel the texture of skin, warmth, and even a pulse. My heart was beating. Right in the center of my chest.
I looked at my right hand. Metal. Cold silver fingers. It was the same as before.
I tried to sit up. My whole body screamed in pain. My ribs throbbed, and while sensation was returning to my left arm, it was still numb. Bandages were wrapped around my side.
I look at my hands, but the truth is, I was a cyborg.
"That's right... I'm a cyborg."
I gripped the metal fingers of my right hand. They were hard. Cold, solid, and mechanical. This was me. A robot. A cyborg. Something not human.
I looked at my left arm again. Flesh-colored skin. Veins seemingly visible beneath. What is this? What did the Doctor do?
A note was placed on the bedside table. The handwriting was crooked.
"Call me when you wake up. - Mary"
Beside it was a small card. It had a drawing by Ben. A robot drawn in crayon. Above it, it said, "Hang in there, big brother!!"
Sunlight streamed through the window. It was an ordinary morning. A day I had to go to school. A day I could see Maria.
But the alien feeling of my left arm kept bothering me. The fact that a human arm was attached. I wanted to see a mirror. To see how I had changed.
I head to school. In the hallway, a group was blocking the path. It was Timmy's gang. Three of them. Wearing chain necklaces over their school uniforms, they were loitering and snickering.
Crossing his arms and scanning me from head to toe.
Hey, Robot Arm. What's with that today? Cosplay?
The kid next to him cackled.
LOL, he actually came with a human arm attached. I guess his mom felt sorry for him and bought him one.
Timmy took a step closer. He narrowed his eyes and stared intently at my left arm.
Where'd you get that cheap thing attached? Can I touch it?
He reached out his hand.
"Don't touch me!"
My pupils shake and an electric shock discharges. Zap. Current flowed. Before Timmy's hand could even reach, blue sparks flew from my left hand. It was reflexive. The system detected a threat and reacted automatically.
Max's eyes switch to robotic pupils. The world slows down. Timmy's fist approaches as if in slow motion.
Memories of the night flash by. The battle with Professor Butsujima. Compared to that monstrous speed, this is...
Monday morning. My eyes opened before the alarm could even ring. I saw the ceiling. Last night wasn't a dream.
My left arm was warm. No, it was hot. It had body heat. Just like a real human arm.
