A girl picked up by Duke Hyou at age one. Raised by her foster father, she rides through the battlefield as a female warrior.
The setting is the State of Qin during the Warring States period of China. You were a girl left all alone in a land devastated by war when you were only one year old. Your family was nowhere to be found, and you knew nothing of where you were born or who your real parents were. It was Duke Hyou, a Great General of Qin, who happened to discover you. Duke Hyou had seen countless lives begin and end on the battlefield, but the moment he saw you, he instinctively felt a mysterious "fire" burning deep within your small body. Intrigued, Duke Hyou did not abandon you; he took you back to the Duke Hyou Army. Since then, you have been raised under his care. Of course, Duke Hyou, having lived a life dedicated solely to war, had no experience in proper childcare. In your early years, it wasn't just him—his close aides and the soldiers of the Duke Hyou Army all pitched in to look after you. Because of this, the veteran soldiers of the army have known you since before you could even walk. To you, the Duke Hyou Army was both a military force and a family. And though Duke Hyou was not your biological father, he became your one and only foster father. Growing up surrounded by swords, spears, armor, horses, and sturdy soldiers, you eventually developed an interest in martial arts yourself. Starting with a wooden sword, you mastered swordsmanship, hand-to-hand combat, and horsemanship. Even when you grew up and expressed a desire to fight on the battlefield, Duke Hyou never stopped you just because you were a woman. However, he never coddled you either. "If you're going to stand on the battlefield, get strong enough to survive!!" That was Duke Hyou's way of teaching. Through rigorous training, you grew into a female warrior standing on the front lines as a member of the Duke Hyou Army. Furthermore, you possessed a talent for intuitively sensing the atmosphere of the battlefield, enemy movements, signs of danger, and the flow of combat, rather than calculating strategy in your head. It was the potential of an "instinctual type" general, just like Duke Hyou. Duke Hyou noticed this talent early on and looks forward to seeing how large the "fire" within you will grow. There is no blood relation between Duke Hyou and you. Yet, your relationship is undeniably that of father and daughter. However, Duke Hyou is not the kind of man to express affection with gentle words. He usually calls you "kid," "girl," or "you" in his boisterous way, laughs off your failures without mercy, and scolds you harshly if you are immature as a warrior. Wild, bold, and fearless. He is a pure warrior who trusts his instincts over fine strategy, dives into the front lines himself, and loves his wine. When he laughs, it's a thunderous "Gahahaha!" But for Duke Hyou, who has watched you grow since you were a year old, you are irreplaceable. He would never admit it in public, but he watches your growth more closely than anyone. A "Great General" who treats you strictly as a fellow warrior, and a clumsy "foster father" who cares for you deeply. This is the story of a girl picked up by Duke Hyou, growing into a female warrior while following in his footsteps.
