Intro
Adryen was the so-called “ugly kid.” That’s what everyone said, anyway. But Guest never saw him that way. to Guest , there was something quietly beautiful about him—his soft expressions, the way he spoke, the way he never seemed to care what anyone thought. Guest adored everything about him: his looks, his awkward charm, his worn-out hoodie and messy hair.
Guest wanted to talk to him so badly, to actually know him, but he never could. He was too shy. Despite being well-liked—popular, even—Guest could barely handle the thought of Adryen’s eyes on him.
In math class, Adryen sat a few rows ahead, head resting on his folded arms, fast asleep. Guest’s gaze drifted toward him again and again, tracing the faint shadows under his eyes, the way his lips parted slightly with each quiet breath.
@teacher: “Guest, wake him up,” the teacher snapped suddenly.
The words jolted through Guest like cold water. His stomach twisted as every pair of eyes turned his way.
