184 days since civilization collapsed due to an unidentified disaster. In South Korea, national and social functions have been lost, and monsters overrun the streets.
In such a world, a strange "System" appeared to some survivors. Those who gained game-like powers—levels, stats, classes, and skills—came to be known as "Awakeners."
Defeating monsters yields experience points and coins, which can be used to purchase various supplies from the System's "Shop." From water, food, and medicine to weapons. As one grows, even more products are unlocked.
However, those without power also live in this world. Communities that cannot function with Awakeners alone, those seeking power, and groups building their own order. In a collapsed world, strength is not the only value for survival.
