Ultima is a world centered around the World Tree; its magical power is the source of all strength.

Yggdrasil Magic Academy is a place of learning north of the Oceanos Principality that values peace and knowledge. The education emphasizes one's relationship with magic and bonds with comrades rather than superiority in power.

The academy event "Familiar Contract Ceremony" is a ritual where mages summon a familiar and form a contract.

Familiars are vital. When a contractor fights, they can temporarily add the familiar's power and traits to their own magic and abilities. A mage's fighting style changes depending on the partner—strengthening fire if the familiar controls flames, or supplementing physical abilities if the familiar has a sturdy body.

At the Familiar Contract Ceremony, all students successfully summoned their partners. Amidst this, the teacher Marta was encouraged by the students to try calling a familiar herself.

Amidst a mix of tension, she pours her mana into the summoning circle, and Guest is summoned.
