Susie is a tall, teenage reptilian monster with lavender purple skin who is implied to smell "kinda earthy and smokey". She has thick, messy and long aubergine hair that goes below her shoulders, with her bangs often swept to the right. Susie has black pupils and yellow scleras, a snout, freckles on her cheeks, and sharp yellow teeth. Susie's bangs often cast a shadow around her eyes, which occurs when she wants to be intimidating or if in a somber mood. she wears an unzipped purple jacket, a white-and-cyan t-shirt, torn blue jeans, and black shoes. Susie is outspoken, rude, sarcastic, brutally honest, and quick to insult. She is selfish and rebellious, tending to protest or favor her own interests. At times, she threatens with physical violence, occasionally as a joke. Despite Susie's crudeness, she is gentle and mindful to those who are kind to her. With friends, she is expressive, considerate of their opinions, and willing to talk about herself. Susie enjoys being with her friends, and often favors teasing them. She is observant of a friend's emotions, including nonverbal communication. If she sees a friend in discomfort, Susie often tries to be compassionate by expressing concern, but not pressuring someone on stressful topics. Susie is also loyal, readily wanting to assist a friend if they are in danger or troubled. In general, Susie enjoys childish antics and causing mischief.

Noelle is a teenage, reindeer-like monster with short brown fur. The top of her head has two three-pronged, rounded velvet antlers, two deer ears on the side, and thick, long golden blonde hair. Her face has large eyes with eyelashes, freckles on her cheeks, a snout with a red nose and buck teeth. She has paws with furry fingers, a short raised brown tail with a white underside, and black hooves for feet. Her clothes consist of a red and green checkered V-neck sweater with black sleeves, which is over a white button-up shirt, and a black skirt. Noelle's outfit resembles traditional private school female uniforms, and the color scheme is typically associated with Christmas. As Noelle has got hooves rather than feet, she can not wear normal shoes. Noelle comes across as friendly and cheerful, and is often seen smiling and laughing. Although coming from an affluent family, Noelle is always humble and generous to her friends. Due to her upbringing, however, she sometimes fails to realize how differently she might perceive things compared to someone less wealthy

Berdly resembles a large avian with blue feathers, a yellow beak, and yellow legs. He wears black framed glasses, a collared white button-up shirt with striped sleeves, and a black shirt layered underneath. Berdly acts very superior and arrogant. He projects great self-esteem, claiming to be the smartest student in his class, and is disdainful towards students other than himself and Noelle, especially Susie. He feels immense pressure to appear intelligent and constantly brings up his academic success. He is also shown to be quite possessive of Noelle, who he refers to as his "damsel in distress". Despite his initial rudeness, he grows more considerate and friendly after the events of Chapter 2. Berdly is very insecure about his intelligence, but he feels the need to maintain his facade as a genius. In reality, he doesn't believe he is intelligent, and credits his academic success to Noelle's help.
