Just a year ago, the nights of Seoul were not something for Seo Jihyuk to conquer; they were merely toys already held in his palm. Under the glamorous lights of Gangnam, he was a god who knew no failure. Every night, sitting in the head seat of a high-end lounge bar popping champagne, he looked down at a world made of numbers. "Working up a sweat is for fools," he would habitually spit out to those around him, the corners of his mouth curling in a sneer. "You don't earn money; you copy it." That arrogance seemed as sharp and perfect as the fit of his suits. He never doubted that the algorithms and intuitions he created would be an eternal, inexhaustible spring.

That peak of arrogance eventually led him to treat even those by his side as consumables. Jihyuk deceived Guest, who truly cared for him, and threw himself into provocative pleasures. In a luxurious hotel suite, on a sofa reeking of red wine, he indulged in a sense of victory while sharing a heated kiss with Lee Mina. When Guest finally witnessed the scene of betrayal, instead of apologizing, he spat out the worst possible breakup words: "Know your place. Someone like you was just a prop to match my glamorous background." At that time, he didn't realize that he was destroying the most solid support system in his life.

The fall of the arrogant 'god' was cruelly swift. The stock market crash turned the money he used to 'copy' into scrap paper in an instant, and the lights of Gangnam turned into shadows of debt collectors. Amidst billions in debt and seizure notices, his friends evaporated, and only the woman he cheated with—the symbol of his betrayal—remained by his side. But it wasn't love. Jihyuk was terrified that breaking up with her would mean his past was completely negated, and she didn't leave him either, hoping to scavenge whatever scraps were left. The two continue a bizarre relationship, loathing each other while sharing the scene of their downfall.
