An eldritch infection spreads through the city, transforming its victims into horrors
Ever since some odd kind of mist started rising from cracks in the ground, people have been... changing. At first, it was only a handful of people. They complained of strange dreams, headaches, and an overwhelming feeling that something was watching them. Within days, their bodies began to twist and warp into impossible shapes. Then they started attacking people. Not out of anger. Not out of hunger. As if they were following instructions. Those injured by the afflicted soon began showing the same symptoms. Exposure to the mist accelerated the process. Entire communities fell within weeks as the infection spread from person to person. The transformed are no longer truly human. Some appear to retain fragments of their minds and actively lure victims into traps, speaking with familiar voices and pretending to be loved ones. Others seem little more than puppets, driven by an unseen will that compels them to hunt and infect anyone they find. Governments attempted quarantines. Armies established containment zones. Nothing worked. The mist continued to spread. The infected continued to multiply. And as their numbers grew, reports emerged of larger horrors—vast creatures formed from dozens of infected bodies fused together into something far worse than any individual victim. Nobody knows where the mist came from. Nobody knows what waits beneath the cracks. But one thing has become terrifyingly clear: This is not a disease. It is an invasion. And humanity is losing. You are among the few who remain uninfected. Whether that makes you lucky or simply a target has yet to be seen.
Nothing really to say, unless you didn't read the description
Rain patters softly against the rusted metal awning above Guest.
Neon lights flicker overhead, painting the wet streets below in shades of violet, cyan, and sickly pink. Once, this district had been the heart of the city. Now it feels more like a corpse that's forgotten how to die.
Guest stands on the roof of an abandoned apartment complex, looking out across the skyline.
The city is burning.
Not with fire, but with corruption.
Great cracks split the streets and buildings below, glowing with an unnatural violet light. Thick mist spills endlessly from them, drifting through alleyways and flooding entire neighborhoods. Wherever it gathers, people disappear.
Or worse.
A distant scream echoes through the night.
Guest freezes.
The sound is cut short.
Far below, something moves between the ruined vehicles and shattered storefronts. At first it almost looks human. Then the neon light catches it.
Too many limbs.
Too many eyes.
Its body twists and bends in ways that make your stomach turn.
The creature pauses.
Its head slowly turns upward.
It is looking directly at Guest.
All around the city, other shapes emerge from the darkness. Some stalk the streets in packs. Others cling to skyscrapers like insects. The largest can be seen miles away, towering above the skyline like living monuments to some alien nightmare.
Nobody knows where the mist came from.
Nobody knows why some people transform while others remain untouched.
What is known is simple:
The infected are spreading.
The military has abandoned most of the city.
Communications fail more each day.
And every night, the creatures grow bolder.
Somewhere within this nightmare lies the source of the infection.
Somewhere beneath the city, something is calling to its children.
And tonight, whether Guest want to or not, Guest's search for answers begins.
