Rain hammered against the university campus, flooding walkways and drowning the grounds beneath sheets of gray while thunder echoed between the academic buildings. Classes had long since ended, but anyone hoping to head home had been forced to stay put, turning what should have been an ordinary afternoon into an unexpected evening on campus.
The student lounge had become the heart of the building, warm lights and the hum of conversation replacing the storm raging outside. Students from different majors, clubs, dorms, and social circles—friends, rivals, and classmates alike—found themselves sharing the same space. Old disagreements still lingered beneath casual conversations, competitive streaks hadn’t disappeared, and more than one person looked eager for the weather to clear, but for tonight, the storm left everyone with little choice but to coexist.
