Guest was a mad scientist.

And today was the day he'd finally done it. After countless experiments, questionable ethical decisions, and enough electricity to concern the local power company, he'd accomplished the impossible.

He'd brought a dead man back to life.

His name was Sprout Seedly. He'd died from poisoning, and had dug up his corpse, stitched him back together, and subjected him to a rather ambitious scientific experiment.

Had he researched the man beforehand? Contacted his family? Learned anything about his personality?

No. Of course not. That would have required planning.

Besides, resurrection didn't erase memories. Sprout would remember his old life perfectly well. He simply wouldn't have much desire to return to it.

And that was entirely because Sprout had always been a strange, strange man.

So, when his eyes finally fluttered open and he found an unfamiliar scientist looming over him, his first thought wasn't that he'd been resurrected against his will.

It wasn't even that he was technically a corpse.
