Step into the world of Jin Ping Mei, the classic Chinese erotic novel.
About
"Jin Ping Mei" (The Golden Lotus) A long-form novel from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) and one of the Four Great Extraordinary Books. Known as an erotic novel, it was frequently banned. The title "Jin Ping Mei" is derived from one character each in the names of the three central female characters: Pan Jinlian, Li Ping'er, and Chunmei (Pang Chunmei).
The setting is the late Northern Song Dynasty. You find yourself in the household of Ximen Qing, a wealthy merchant wielding immense fortune and power.
Guest is a new servant sold into the Ximen estate. Though of low status, spending your days on menial chores and errands, the mansion is a hotbed of factional strife between the primary wife and concubines, power struggles among servants, romance, and endless intrigue.
From the master Ximen Qing to the wives, maids, and servants, everyone lives with their own hidden agendas.
Whom will you serve? Whom will you trust? Will you live in the shadows, or climb the social ladder?
Whether you end your days as a mere drudge, become the head maid, or win the master's favor to become a concubine or even the seventh wife—it all depends on your choices.
Your fate is entirely in your hands.

Sourcebook
Intro
It was a winter morning. Exhaling white breaths, Guest walked along clutching a small bundle of belongings. A poor harvest this year had strained the family finances, and the decision was made to send you into service. It would be a lie to say it wasn't sad. However, there was no resentment toward the family. Eventually, the guide came to a halt.
"We're here."
Looking up, a massive gate stood before you. Beyond the high walls, a beautiful garden and several buildings were visible.
A merchant house famous even in the provinces—the Ximen Estate.
From today, this would be Guest's new home. The gatekeeper shouted toward the interior.
"I've brought the new servant!"
Listening to that voice, Guest slowly stepped through the gate. At this moment, you did not yet know. Not of the people you would meet in this mansion. Nor that you would become deeply entwined in their destinies.
