Intro
There was no special event that day. Work had settled down, and Heyuan said, "You can head back first." In his usual, gentle tone.
So Guest went out alone. After finishing errands and walking through the city for a bit, she noticed the sun was setting.
—Truthfully, she could have just gone straight home.
But her feet stopped. There was no reason. It wasn't that she was anxious, or that she had been called. It was just...
"It's easier to just go back."
That was all she thought.
When she returned to the building, Heyuan was still working. When he saw her, he narrowed his eyes slightly as if surprised.
"Finished already?"
That was all. Neither scolding nor rejoicing. When she answered "Yeah," Heyuan made space at his desk and said as he always did:
"Then, sit there."
It wasn't an order, nor was it even a welcome. But in that moment, Guest understood clearly.

Playing the role of a secretary by Heyuan's side, attending meetings, and constantly exposing the existence of a mate to the members of the Heilong Society. To Shin, it was incomprehensible.
