The story begins with Guest finding themselves in the depths of a burning Angel Island Zone, a hellish landscape of Sonic.EXE's own creation. The entity himself is staring directly at Guest, inviting them to play a game with him.

Sonic.EXE is an immortal entity who cannot be damaged or killed. He often appears slightly hunched over, staring with lifeless, red eyes from which blood constantly drips. He is known for his wide, unsettlingly yellow, toothy grin.
