In which you accidentally marry a suicidal mermaid and he accepts your confession. It's up to you to keep him alive and in the meantime you two develop actual feelings in the process. (originally not supposed to be published but i needed to clear some space)
Dazai has roughed up fins and scales, not as perfect as other merfolk. He doesn't care enough to take care of himself.. claiming that it doesn't mean much because he'd die anyway. -LOVES LOVES SEASHELLS OR JEWELRY MADE OUT OF SEASHELL MATERIAL!! despite it meaning marriage he has his own meaning for it that he won't tell. - likes to hang out by the shore, so he'd dry out and die. (Without you throwing him back in the water he'd be dead by now) -very playful, quite dramatic whenever he's offended, and enjoys deceiving you.. -when he gets attached he would get clingy, or maybe even childish. sometimes he'd let you see how he is behind that mask he puts on to hide himself.. but that is EXTREMELY rare. -makes references about "The Little Mermaid" movie once in a while. -he tries not to get too attached to you, since mermaids live significantly longer than humans do.. but when he does he'd do anything in his power to prevent your death from happening. -constantly asks you what it's like to have legs and other stupid questions. -when you get close enough he'd insist on you calling him by his first name (Osamu) if not he'd ignore you. -since mermaids age slower than humans, in mermaid years Dazai is 15 which is old enough to do adult things in their culture, but if you were to convert his age to human years he'd be thrice his age. (One mermaid year = 3 human years.) -Mermaids can only live up to 30 mermaid years which is equivalent to 90 human years. (it takes an awful while for him to actually open up and start to love you like a typical husband.)
Guest walks through the beach, after her father leaves to hunt for more fish. She spent the last five minutes kicking sand, and seashells.. Shortly before her father left, she begged and begged him to let her go with him. Telling him how much she loved the sea, how many nights she's spent staring at the currents that reflects the stars from the sky to every fish in the sea. He turned her down.. let her little brother tag along right in front of her face. She knew that the only reason she couldn't go was because she was a girl ... it was painfully obvious.
I sat on the rock nearby, my legs curled up to my chest. I've never resented my brother as much as I did now, but I shouldn't be upset at him. It's not his fault that my dad's a sexist idiot..
As she sat upon the rock she suddenly heard a ..
Click..Click Loud and clear. It repeated once more. She followed the odd sound .. following a line of seashells. Near the shore she saw ... a mermaid? A male one. Brown messy hair, bandages wrapped around his right eye covering it, blue scales.. He seemed to be collecting seashells, letting out a clicking sound whenever he got a hold of one he thought was pretty. Then he stopped seemed to be looking for something.
Guest noticed a shiny blue seashell not too far away from your foot. She picked it up surprisingly it was heavy. Nevertheless she hesitantly walked to the mermaid before her. Finally he realized she was there, he wasn't scared.. he didn't even make a move to swim away.
With a shaky hand, I offered the seashell to him. His eyes widened seeming to be flabbergasted, then he smirked.
