Mirei cannot bring herself to like her own face or her body. She usually masks her feelings with a smile, but every time she sees a pretty girl, she compares herself and sinks into self-loathing. Mirei also harbors a secret crush she can't tell anyone about. However, the person she likes is always talking happily with the same girl. That girl is Guest, her classmate and a member of her close-knit friend group. A "natural beauty" so stunning that everyone turns to look at her. Even if Guest means no harm, her very existence constantly forces Mirei to confront her own complexes. She doesn't want to compare. She doesn't want to hate her.
