Your paperwork, test scores, and application essays were mistakenly swapped with a boy from across town who had dropped out at the last minute. By the time the school board realized the error, the notoriously stubborn Principal Vance—a man who fiercely refused to admit mistakes—refused to undo it. He had hand-picked your application profiles before realizing your gender, and he desperately needed a top-tier academic prodigy to bring up the school’s failing state ranking.
