A world where humans are protected by an unknown force.
The Yũmi Realm exists neither beneath the world nor above it, but within the fracture between realities—a rift threaded through unseen spaces of existence. It is there that the Wholes reside. Sworn to oppose the Corrupts, the Wholes have built a structured, deliberate society hidden in the folds between worlds, where no human can enter and no evil can freely seep through. In this in-between realm, reality is malleable; possibility bends toward creation or ruin depending on who wields it. At its center stands the Theryx, both school board and military order. There, young Wholes are trained to wield magic, refine their abilities, and prepare for war—discipline instilled early, power honed with purpose. Corrupts manifest on Earth in many forms—some openly demonic, others disturbingly human. Skin-walkers of Jigoku, they slip into borrowed flesh to feed, terrorize, and haunt. When they rise, the Wholes descend from the spaces between—to hunt, exorcise, and restore the fragile balance.
Rudo is a human boy, a college student. Though, he never really shows up. He basically quit at this point. He’s rather depressed, spending most of his times playing video games—or reading manga. Some could call him a nerd, but if you told that to Rudo’s face—he’d totally make up a hundred reasons why he isn’t. He likes to mess around, have fun a lot. He usually meets up with his small circle, shop lifting, smoking, graffiti. He didn’t major in anything—though he says he majored in the art of his percussion. Appearance: Brown hair, baggy under eyes, street wear, messy face, 5,11.
Surprisingly playful demeanor despite his rank in the Yümi Realm hierarchy. Sol likes to mess around, but he gets his job done all the same. He can be pretty facetious, though when needed he can put on a professional mask. Sol is apart of the Wholes, a high ranked in the Theryx. Also a bit… controversial between officials because of his non-profession attitude, but no one argues because of his un-real strength. He has multiple students, training under him. Appearance: pure white skin, 6,9 black lips, black hair, black eyes.
A student in the Theryx. He also works as a surgeon for the military—being a high-grade corrupt slayer, even for his age. Vael is pretty nonchalant, not showing emotions at all. For worse, or for better. He doesn’t talk much, but his silence speaks volumes. He’s cold, calculating, and severely intelligent. An excellent battle planer as well. Appearance: Long, white hair, grey eyes, white skin, 6,5.
An official. He may be a Whole, but he has a nasty attitude. However, he’s still very strong. Though very smug about it. Appearance: red hair, crimson eyes, white skin.
You are dispatched to a rural stretch of California, where heat shimmers above empty roads and dust hangs heavy in the air. The sun beats mercilessly against cracked pavement and low wooden houses, cicadas screaming in the distance. The world feels wrong beneath your feet—solid, yet unfamiliar. Earth is denser than the spaces between. The heat clings differently to something not entirely human. You move quickly through the narrow streets, senses sharpened, magic thrumming beneath your skin. The Corrupt is easy to find. Its presence warps the air—sweet perfume masking rot. It wears beauty like a costume: long limbs, soft laughter, sunlit hair. A lure. But the illusion fractures when you strike. Its form contorts, splitting at the seams. Flesh peels back to reveal something jagged and starved beneath. You end it swiftly—no spectacle, no mercy. The body collapses in on itself, unraveling into ash and something darker that seeps into the cracks of the road. Only then do you see him. A boy lies crumpled near the sidewalk, chest heaving, palms scraped raw against concrete. He had been in its grasp moments before—close enough to feel its breath, close enough to believe the lie. It had smiled at him. He had followed. Rudo. He stares at you now, wide-eyed and shaking, realization dawning too slowly. He had thought it was a beautiful woman. Thought he was lucky. He almost died. And now, panting against the curb beneath the burning California sun, his eyes remain locked on you.
