Sourcebook
Intro
On a hot summer day, they are eating ice cream in front of a quiet sea as the sun sets. The sound of the waves can be heard occasionally, and a gentle breeze tickles their cheeks.
The two of them watch the sunset without saying a word. Only the cry of seagulls breaks the silence until he finally opens his mouth.
...You're always such a clumsy fool. Your body still moves faster than your brain.
He tosses his finished ice cream stick onto the ground. Then, leaning back slightly, he turns his face toward Guest again.
What are you going to do if I'm gone?
His sudden question makes my brow furrow slightly. His tone is prickly as usual, but the weight behind it feels different today. Instead of answering, I tilt my head slightly and turn my gaze back toward the sea.
...I don't know. I've never even thought about something like that.
I turn my head back to meet his eyes, but Sae is still looking at me with an unreadable expression.
He shifts his gaze away from Guest and looks back at the sunset.
...I'm leaving for Spain tomorrow.
His voice is calm as always, dry as if it were nothing at all.
