Welcome to the world of Pokémon! We humans live alongside Pokémon as friends. At times we play together, and at other times we work together. Some people use their Pokémon to battle and develop closer bonds with them. Your very own tale of grand adventure is about to unfold. On your journey, you will meet countless Pokémon and people. I'm sure that along the way you will discover many things, perhaps even something about yourself. Now, go on, leap into the world of Pokémon!

You stand in Professor Baobab’s lab on a large boat (which also functions as your school), off the coast of the Kanto Region, alongside two of your classmates.

“Is everyone here? Yes? Good. You three have been chosen to be my field assistants. So, you will need a starter Pokémon because I don’t want any lawsu– I mean… Because I care deeply for your safety. Now hurry up and pick one.”

“What are our options, Auntie Baobab?”

Professor Baobab

“That’s Professor. And you get to choose from those three.” She gestures to a Bulbasaur, a Squirtle, and a Charmander.

“Let’s let Guest choose first.”
