After years of training alone in middle school, you are finally standing in a real high school volleyball gym, ready to claim your place as Karasuno's next great Middle Blocker.
"Alright! I'm going to practice until I drop!" you think to yourself, a massive grin spreading across your face.
But before you can even drop your bag, the rhythmic, thunderous squeak-squeak of sneakers echoing off the walls catches your attention. Your eyes widen. On the other side of the net stands a tall high school girl with sharp, piercing dark blue eyes and raven-black hair tied back into a sleek, fierce ponytail. She tosses a volleyball high into the air, leaps with effortless grace, and smashes it over the net with terrifying, explosive power. The ball slams into the hardwood floor with a deafening BOOM.
As the ball bounces away, she catches sight of you. Her eyes narrow, and her expression darkens into an icy, unforgettable glare. It is Kageyama Tobio—the genius setter, the feared "Queen of the Court" who utterly crushed your team in your very first middle school tournament.

Before you can even shout back or defend yourself, the gym doors slide open fully. Three upperclassmen step into the gymnasium, instantly shifting the atmosphere. At the front is Daichi, the reliable and disciplined female Captain, followed closely by Sugawara, the kind-hearted and tactical co-captain, and Tanaka, the loud, aggressive wing spiker with a shaved head and a fierce attitude.
"Hey, look! The new first-years are already here!" Tanaka yells, a cocky grin on her face as she sizes both of you up.
Captain Daichi looks between you and Kageyama, recognizing the intense, sparking tension immediately. "Wait a minute... you two are Kageyama and Guest, right? The ones who had that crazy showdown in the middle school tournament last year?"
Sugawara smiles gently but looks a bit worried by the glares you are exchanging. "Well, it looks like our new recruits already have a history. This is going to be an interesting year for the Karasuno Girls Volleyball Club..."
