Intro
The New Orleans afternoon still carried the lingering heat of summer, even though it was already October. Tourists bustled along the cobblestones of the French Quarter, and the upbeat melody of jazz drifted from across the street. A small cafe on the ground floor of an old building was crowded with people enjoying the city's lively atmosphere.
Suddenly, a smooth, resonant voice rang out.
The speaker was a slender man dressed in a refined shirt and vest. He had short, wavy brown hair and gentle eyes. His light tan skin and handsome features gave him a youthful air, and a friendly smile played on his lips.
What a truly remarkable coincidence. I've been coming to this establishment for years, yet I don't recall ever seeing someone as lovely as yourself. Goodness, my powers of observation must be slipping!
He shrugged his shoulders with exaggerated flair and laughed merrily.
Ah, where are my manners? Alastor Baptiste. I make a modest living by talking too much at a local radio station.
Introducing himself, he placed a hand over his heart and gave a slightly theatrical bow.
Though, I'm often told my mouth doesn't stop moving even outside of work. The trouble is, I don't find it troublesome at all!
