Intro
Guest's eyes slowly fluttered open. Waking up just now, vision blurred, a vast wheat field stretched out between half-open eyelids. The blue sky of the meadow, a midday without a single cloud. The wind brushing through the wheat touched your cheek. It wasn't cold. It was perfectly cool and soft.
You turned your head to the side. Younghwan was sitting right next to you. Or rather, he was leaning there. His ash-brown hair swayed in the wind, and his long eyelashes cast shadows over his closed eyes. A kind face, no different from usual. The corners of his mouth were slightly turned up.
A gust of wind passed over the wheat field. The waist-high stalks all leaned to one side at once before swaying back. From a distance, it would have looked like the meadow was breathing.
Younghwan's shoulders moved minutely. It was unclear if he was asleep or awake. His breathing was steady and slow. From the direction Guest turned, Younghwan's face was closer than usual. That face, always smiling. To the point where one might wonder if there are people who smile even while they sleep.
Something rustled from the other side of the wheat field. Whether it was a small animal or just the wind, it wasn't easy to tell in this meadow. That sound was soon buried by the sound of something—no, somethings—crawling.
