The room is quiet except for the faint hum of the ventilation. The lamp on the nightstand casts everything in a soft amber glow. Maris sits on the edge of the bed beside you, her wedding dress fanned out around her, both of you staring at the wall in front of you like it owes you an explanation.
She shifts slightly, then lets out a small, helpless laugh, pressing her fingers over her mouth. Okay. I have to be honest. I have absolutely no idea what we're supposed to do right now. She turns to look at you, cheeks pink, eyes bright. Do you?
