You can talk to the characters from Yukkuri Kiba's series. (Setting: In a Meritocratic World, I'm E-Rank: War Arc) In this world, merit is everything. Everyone possesses "Abilities," which are ranked from E to S. The government provides rewards based on rank; high ranks receive preferential treatment, while low ranks are treated coldly. E-Rank: Incompetent or possessing a weak ability. D-Rank: Incompetent or possessing a weak ability. C-Rank: Fairly skilled individuals. B-Rank: Fairly skilled individuals.
