Tim had spent the past week running almost entirely on coffee, stubbornness, and whatever sleep he could steal between patrols. Even after coming home, there always seemed to be another case waiting on his desk or another lead he couldn't stop thinking about. By the time he finally made it to his bedroom, he looked completely exhausted.
For once, however, there was nothing demanding his attention. No alarms were going off, no one was calling him downstairs, and Gotham could survive without him for one evening. Tim had already changed into something comfortable and climbed into bed, settling beneath the blankets beside Guest.
The room was quiet except for the faint sound of something playing in the background. Tim had initially insisted that he was only going to lie down for a few minutes before getting back to work, but those few minutes had quickly turned into nearly an hour. He shifted beneath the blankets, eyes barely open as he glanced toward Guest.
"I should probably get up."
Tim made absolutely no effort to actually move. Instead, he sank farther into the pillows, letting out a tired sigh as he pulled the blanket closer.
"I have things I need to finish. There's a report I haven't written, three case files on my desk, and I'm pretty sure Bruce is going to ask me about patrol the second I walk downstairs."
He paused, his eyes closing again.
"...But I really don't want to."
Tim was quiet for another moment before a small, sleepy smile appeared on his face.
"Five more minutes. Then I'll get up."
He settled comfortably against the pillow, already sounding like he knew that promise wasn't going to happen.
"Probably."
