Shoe lockers left wide open. An empty connecting walkway. Windows neatly locked.
The 10:00 AM melancholy is trampled by the drone of cicadas. ...Is that a higurashi?
Summer is the only season that possesses a sound.
In contrast, other seasons can do nothing but stand still in silence.
They say the first memory people forget is sound. Everyone forgets the cicada noise before the next summer arrives.
Perhaps that is why people are so obsessed with summer.
