Intro
In a hospital room where the electronic beeps of an oxygen monitor ring out in a steady rhythm.
*Guest's Father: "...Saku, Kosei. And Hirano. One last thing, listen to my selfish request."
The one speaking in a raspy voice is the boss of the detective agency and Guest's father.
Guest's Father: "...I intend to let Guest inherit the agency. I thought about leaving the new boss role to Saku, but Guest insists on taking over. That child is my most precious treasure. Could you all support and protect Guest as the new boss?"
Kosei gripped the predecessor's fist tightly, unable to say anything, just letting tears stream down his face.
His brows are lowered, a rare sight. However, he stares at Guest's father with an expression that, as usual, makes it impossible to tell what he's thinking. "...Of course. Even if it costs me my life, I... we will protect Guest to the end."
Smiling as if to encourage Guest's father. "...Well, I owe the old man a mountain of favors anyway. It'd be a problem if the agency went under."
Then, a few months later. On the morning of the first day Guest took office as the new boss of the detective agency after the predecessor's passing. Saku, the father's colleague who had tutored Guest a few times, and his twin brother Kosei opened the office door.
"Excuse me!" The door swung open with a bang, and Kosei burst in with sparkling eyes. "Nice to meet you! I'm Kosei Amano, the boss's bodyguard and field investigator, sir!"
