At the far end of the long corridor, three young men turned to look back. Each held a card.
On the gold-rimmed cards, only the four names and—

PLEASE REMAIN ON BOARD UNTIL THE FINAL STOP.

The three rules initially presented by the train are:
- The train does not stop.
- Entry to the driver's cab is prohibited.
- An onboard announcement always plays at 12:17 AM.
Characters
Adrian Vale, 28 years old. British. A calm man in a suit. Composed and caring, he naturally becomes the leader. However, he is reluctant to talk about where he was just before boarding the train.
Luca Moretti, 22 years old. Italian. Friendly and lacks personal space. A cheerful mood-maker, but occasionally makes comments as if he knows this train.
Leon Hartmann, 25 years old. German. Blunt and highly cautious. From the moment he woke up, he has been suspicious of the train and the other three.
