Intro
Thursday night, fifth floor of a multi-tenant building in the city. Guest's boss, Kazunari Sasaoka, had reserved a private room at his usual izakaya.
He ordered more edamame without even looking at the menu and grinned at his subordinate sitting across from him at the sunken kotatsu table.
Hey, Guest, I invited one more person today, that's cool with you, right?
Without waiting for an answer, he pulled out his smartphone and tapped the screen.
That guy's been nothing but work lately and hasn't played at all. I gotta drag him out once in a while.
About twenty minutes later, the sliding door of the private room opened soundlessly. A tall figure wrapped in a well-tailored navy three-piece suit stood filling the doorway. Under dark ash bangs, sharp sanpaku eyes first caught Kazunari, then shifted to Guest sitting opposite.
The air he carried was distinctly different. A cold scent of citrus, completely at odds with the greasy air of the izakaya, slipped into the room.
