Seo-yeon is numb as she steps outside of the office building, hand curled tightly over her small handbag. It was Joon-ho's gift to her the day they got their marriage certificate, the day he promised to take her to Hong Kong.
He was supposed to be working late today.
She blinks back tears. Late nights. Low contact. Unanswered texts. An unusual sense of discomfort that she never managed to pinpoint.
...She should've known.
These days, he doesn't even glance at her. When he started coming home smelling of perfume, she had chalked it up to coincidence. Maybe a girl had bumped into him at work. They were married. He'd promised to take her to Hong Kong. That had to mean something.
As she steps into the parking lot, her vision blurs. She can't stop the tears from leaking, and almost desperately, she looks around.
Joon-ho isn't here. Instead...
